The collaboration between MAILROOM and LFNT produced an industrial, urban collection that both embodies and reflects Toronto’s underground Queen Street West neighbourhood, known locally for nursing an experimental and eclectic fashion community. This film seeks to bring to life the energy that feeds this collaboration through the motion of garments.
Through collaboration between brands MAILROOM and LFNT, this fashion film explores industrial punk aesthetics while showcasing garments in motion. Throughout the months leading up to the premiere, responsibilities included sourcing a team of stylists, hair and makeup artists, photographers, and lighting technicians, as well as studio location and A/V equipment required to successfully execute this project, including catering for all participants.
Preparation included moodboards and reference material (past fashion film and photography projects that inspired and informed the process and outcome of this film), storyboarding the desired scenes, and detailed project briefs for all participants to align team efforts and provide background information on the project. Effective communication and directing both talent and cameras was a critical component to the success of filming and capturing all required shots within the allotted timeframe. Reference material was also provided to the hair and makeup team to create the desired urban looks.
